Feel the monthly discomfort we all share, but now, imagine enduring it every single day. In Gaza, women face a relentless cycle, one that extends beyond five days.

Here’s what you're in for ☕:

  • “The Jacket”: Campaign sparks outrage and déjà vu.

  • Join the mission: Empower women in Gaza.

  • Hadith: The beauty of easing each other's burdens.

  • Crisis Unfolded: Global shock waves in 2023.

  • Fashion: Modest girlies unite!

KEEPING UP

Zara’s Under Fire 🛍️🚫

Zara, one of the most popular fashion retailers, is currently facing severe backlash. Their latest campaign, "The Jacket," has sparked outrage and calls for boycotts due to its disturbing resemblance to the ongoing destruction and genocide in Gaza.

Deeper Dive 🔍

These images strike a chord with the Muslim community, resembling the scenes unfolding in Gaza, and here’s why:

  1. White Body Bag:

    🚨 Resembles Muslim burial attire.

  2. The Rubble:

🚨 Capturing the reality of lives lost and homes ruined to debris in Gaza.

  3. Plasterboard Map:

🚨 A piece of plasterboard in the background looks shaped like a map of Palestine.

Zara’s Response 💬

In response to the mounting backlash, Zara took down the controversial images and issued a statement. According to the brand, these shots were filmed and captured in September.

However,

some argue that the decision to drop this bombshell during an ongoing genocide screams tone-deaf. Many question the timing and the ethical considerations behind such a decision.

Déjà Vu 🔄

In 2021, Zara found itself under a similar spotlight, as one of its heads of design sent hateful messages to a Palestinian model.

These messages included statements such as “Israelis don't teach children to hate or throw stones at soldiers, as your people do,” along with other Islamophobic comments.
