KEEPING UP

Collaboration with Genocide Funders 🩸💄

With a whopping 1.2 million TikTok followers, Frishta Ghaderi, a prominent Muslim makeup artist, recently stirred up controversy within the Muslim community due to a video collaboration with MAC Cosmetics, a company that supports Israel.

Before we pass judgment, we need to keep in mind that Frishta, like many of us, may not have been aware. As a community, we're all still navigating the treacherous waters of conscious consumer choices.

HOWEVER,

Frishta's comment section was flooded with viewers who were questioning her values as a Muslim. She engaged with a few comments and clarified that it was an advertisement and confirmed her support for Palestine.

It later came to light that she had signed a contract two months ago, potentially facing legal repercussions if breached. However, within a day, she chose to delete as many comments as she could before ultimately removing the post altogether.

But wait, there's more…

Plenty of Muslims expressed their frustration, pointing out that Frishta seems to prioritize her 30-day Halloween makeup challenge for “spooktober”.

The concern goes beyond the debate over whether Halloween-themed makeup is haram; it pierces deeper into the heart of the matter—while people are struggling with genuine hardships and bleeding, she's fully absorbed in conjuring up gruesome Halloween looks.

People want her to advocate for Palestine on her largest platform, TikTok, instead of opting for Instagram stories, which disappear after 24 hours. Frishta has not yet addressed or made any comments regarding this matter.

CONTROVERSY

Sloppy Selena 😞💔

Back in 2014, Selena Gomez had Muslim women cheering her on with her Gaza post, but a conspicuous silence surrounds her when it comes to Palestine since.

In an unexpected turn, she recently shared a post expressing her neutrality, leaving plenty of her supporters disappointed.

“People being tortured and killed or any act of hate towards any one group is horrific. We need to protect ALL people…I just can't stand by innocent people getting hurt. I wish I could change the world. But a post won't”

Selena Gomez

Um Selena, with 430 MILLION followers on Instagram, you have the world's attention at your fingertips. Imagine the impact if you had raised your voice about the Palestinian genocide.

With a simple link for donations, you could've ignited a wildfire of support, turning your followers into informed activists, and even fueling brand boycotts.

Oh wait…

Many of her pro-Palestine supporters believed that her makeup brand, Rare Beauty, was a safe choice for purchase.

However, it's worth noting that Rare Beauty's CEO, Scott Friedman, is a hardcore Zionist who actively shares pro-Zionist content and follows the IDF Instagram account, as well as several other accounts that promote anti-Palestine content.

SNIPPETS

Elon Musk announced that Starlink would provide connectivity in Gaza. However, "Paltel," a telecommunications company, reestablished communication services for the people of Gaza, generously providing them with free internet access and call minutes.

The ceasefire resolution for Palestine garnered significant international attention and support at the United Nations, with 120 members support. However, 14 countries voted against the resolution, and an additional 45 chose to abstain from casting their votes.

President Joe Biden raised doubts about the Palestinian death toll in Gaza. In response, the Palestinian Health Ministry released a list of over 7,000 casualties, over 3,200 being children. The number of children killed in Gaza in just three weeks surpasses the total child casualties in global conflict zones since 2019.

Yemen's recent statement marks its official entry into war with Israel, as they have publicly announced the launch of a number of missiles and drones specifically aimed at Israeli targets.

Pakistan has ordered 1.7 million undocumented Afghans to leave by November 1st or be deported. During decades of conflict, these Afghans have crossed the border, making Pakistan one of the world's largest refugee populations.

In Texas, a 52-year-old Pakistani Muslim mother was stabbed to death out of nowhere while sitting at a picnic table outside her apartment. The suspect, 24-year-old Joseph Fridrich, abruptly fled the scene but was later found and arrested.

In New York, a 16-year-old Muslim girl was attacked on a southbound 5 train on her way to school. The attacker, sitting next to her, told her "you're a terrorist, you don't belong here," and then pulled her hijab. The man fled the scene, with no arrests made so far.
