France Banning Abayas
The French government did it again. First it was the hijab, then the niqab, followed by the burkini, and now it's the abaya's turn. On September 8th, the French government decided to stick to its guns and ban abayas in public schools. Let's break it down:
The French government claimed that abayas violates their sacred rule of secularism at schools.
After the ban, nearly 300 girls wore abayas to school.
Several of them refused to change and were sent home. One of them being a 15 year old Muslim girl who wore an open KIMONO, a t-shirt, and jeans
But here’s the kicker…
France has become infested with bed bugs recently, and the condition is getting worse each week. Unsurprisingly, French citizens have been advised to cover their bodies to protect themselves from the bed bug invasion.
However, Muslim women are strictly prohibited from doing so.
On a more positive note…
…, the International Olympic Committee recently declared that hijab-wearing French athletes are welcome to compete in the Olympics in PARIS, despite past statements saying otherwise.
ISLAMIC REMINDER
Surah Yasin teaches us that it is okay to be alone if you’re on the right path. Remind your heart that only Allah matters and not the opinions of others.
A DOMINO EFFECT

Egypt’s Niqab Ban (Booo 👎)
On September 30th the Egyptian Ministry of Education banned students from wearing the niqab. Picture this:
Niqab Banned: ALL students banned from wearing niqabs in schools for "security purposes" to monitor who enters and exits the school.
Hijab: Hijabs are allowed, however, they must be in a specific school-dictated color.
Contradiction: Egypt is a Muslim majority country (~90%), this raises questions about religious freedom.
You'd think that in a Muslim country, of all places, this sort of thing wouldn't happen, right? …right?
The French government must be having a field day from of this news.

Hijabi Hair Care
Maintaining healthy hair is an act of self-care that we must take part in. Just because we are hijabis doesn't mean we don't care about our hair. Here's a hair care guide:
Invest in Silk Under Caps: Silk is very gentle on your hair, reducing the risk of breakage and frizz.
Avoid Wearing Wet Hair Under the Hijab: Wet hair is more prone to damage and can cause dandruff, an itchy scalp, and shedding.
Change Your Hair Part: Constantly parting your hair in the same spot can lead to hair thinning in that area. To prevent this, change your hair part regularly.
Nourish Your Scalp with Rosemary Hair Growth Oil: Once a week, treat your hair to a soothing massage with rosemary hair growth oil. Apply it to your scalp, gently massage for a few minutes, and then leave it in your hair for about 30 minutes before washing your hair. Be consistent and it will promote hair growth inshaAllah!
Scalp Massage: Scalp massages are very beneficial for hair growth. Use your fingertips or a silicone hair massager to gently massage your scalp for at least 5 minutes daily. This stimulates blood circulation and promotes healthier and faster hair growth.
